Undergraduate Awards are worth $3,500 for first-time recipients, and past recipients are eligible to apply for subsequent $1,000 awards, up to a maximum of 3 additional years (4 years in total). Applications that meet the award eligibility criteria will be forwarded to the adjudication committee for consideration. Applicants will be assessed on the following:
o Financial need
o Family and community activities and responsibilities
o Career and life goals
Awards will be granted on a competitive basis to applicants who are: o First Nations (Status or Non-Status), Métis, or Inuit (see definitions below);
o residents of British Columbia, defined as having had a primary residence at an address in BC for at least the 12 consecutive months prior to the March 31, 2015 application deadline;
o commencing a new year of full-time studies in an undergraduate bachelor’s program at a BC public postsecondary institution or Aboriginal-run institution between May 1, 2015 and April 30, 2016;
o Planning to study as a full-time student as defined by their institution**
